Bali Stickfighters at the World Titles

Bali’s I Nyoman Satryawan and Bali based Drew Lambert, both won silver respectively at the Eskrima-Arnis FMA (Stickfighting ) World Titles last week in Cebu,Philipines. Satryawan ,deaf mute since birth , part of BSF Asia’s Special Needs Martial Arts program,which includes Blind Judo,showed strength and speed to win silver surprising the more experienced fighters in his division.

BSF Founder Rodney Holt,who himself competed in the Master’s Division,commented Satryawan’s medal proved that athletes with disabilites could more than hold their own in open (mixed) competition.Made Swidiartha,Keiran Lambert and I Dewa Gede Ari Wahyudi completed the Bali contingent of the Indonesian National team which included Taufik Nandipinto ,Idi Tiandianto and Tom Goldsworthy.
