The Lonely Planet Guide to Bali and Lombok says of Kuta – “Tourism on Bali began here and is there any question why? The sweeping arc of sand curves from Kuta into the misty horizon north-west. Surf that started far out in the Indian Ocean crashes to shore in long symmetrical breaks. You can stroll the 12km of sand, enjoy a foot massange and a cold beer with thousands of your new best friends in the south, or revel in utter solitude up north. Kuta Beach was and always will be Bali’s best beach” For the Ocean Swim the sea temperature will be about 26 degrees. The air temperature will be around 31 degrees. The safety of swimmers is watched over by the Kuta Beach Lifeguards (Balawista). The swim is held during the ‘dry’ season and the days often have clear blue skies, gentle see breezes that keep you comfortable and warm balmy nights. Bali is a true tropical paradise and Kuta was made for Ocean swimming. Nearby to Bali are the aquatic paradises of the Gili Islands and Lombok. Kuta is close to Bali’s International Airport (Bandara Ngurah Rai) and also a great base from which to explore Bali’s rich offerings – from the cultural and artistic heart of Ubud, to lunch at Kintamani on the rim of the volcano of Gunung Batur or the water palaces of the ancient kingdom of Karangasem or snorkeling and diving at Tulamben. Let the Bali Ocean Swim be your entrance to one of the world’s most beautiful, magical and cultural places. Leave behind the frantic nightlife of Kuta, Legian and Seminyak and explore the serene and ancient Hindu culture and religion. Sample great food unique to Bali or enjoy international cuisine, go aquatic – swim, surf, snorkel, kite surf, windsurf, sail, scuba dive or fish or simply explore the beauty of nature from Beaches to Volcanoes, hidden valleys and waterfalls or ancient forests. You can do as much, or as little, as you want – Bali has it all. Discover for yourself a beach and an island that lives up to and goes beyond the cliches of travel brochures – a truly unique island, people and culture. Don’t forget all proceeds from Bali Ocean swim go to the Bali Sports Foundation swimming program for children with disabilities. For more information on BSF and the disabled swimming program to to: http://www.balisports.com/ We look forward to seeing you at Kuta Beach on 26 May 2024!
