“the tournament provided good match experience for the SE Asian teams with Malaysia going to Thailand next month whereas Indonesia has a tournament in Timor-Leste coming up. A big thanks to USA’s Oscarmike team for showing the SE Asian teams how to play the game at high level.Having two hall of famers Garrett Hinkling and Naz Erdem who assisted with coaching Indonesia and Singapore respectively was also a boost to the sport in our region. This event also saw new referees from Indonesia and Singapore stepping up ,increasing the pool of referees in our region”
“Most importantly our sponsors saw up close how exciting wheelchair rugby can be, so we look forward to a continued support from them in 2019 , leading to a considerable increase in the number of new WR tournaments that will give the SE Asian wheelchair rugby players more opportunities to improve and hopefully be competitive with some of the tier one countries in the next paralympic cycle.”
