BSF Bali Boccia

BSF Bali Boccia

On December 9 , BSF Indonesia held a boccia tournament

Following a late change of timing for the event at BIS 4 of the 9 players committed to play Boccia on Saturday December 8th had to scratch from the competition.

A new schedule for the 5 players was quickly drawn up and play commenced 1 pm in a round robin format with a total 10 games of singles to be played in BC4 category.
All matches were played in a very good spirit with Karmen coming through unbeaten , playing a very close deciding final game 5-2 against Ketut who only lost that one game.
As usual the game between the budiarsa brothers was a very close affair with Ketut winning this time, 3-1

In the 6 boccia tournaments organised by BSF since 2015 Ketut has shown most consistency with 1 win 4 runner up and a 3rd place

Karmen took his 2nd tournament victory, and 1st in Bali . He was injured for the Bali friendly games in May 2018 having been BC4 top player in singapore in December 2017 – Karmen has 2 wins , 2 runner up and a 3rd
New player Nita caused the biggest upset with a 4-1 victory over champion of Bali friendly games from 2017 and 2018 Nyoman , and she took the 3rd place trophy in her first tournament.
Nyoman has 2 wins, twice 3rd place and twice 4th
Imanuela was the 5th competitor who played very well in her matches , with great family support from both parents and her sister.

In the team match the Brothers Ketut and Nyoman Budiarsa won a very tight game against the youth team of Karmen, Nita and Imanuela which went down to the final ball of the 4th end.

Thanks to IBU Mary for refereeing for the first time, and to Ayuk for a great job with ball collection

Next tournament will be June 22nd 2019 at Bali island school as part of the Friendly games
